Flat Chat speaks Strata Lingo on Saturdays

I know you’re computer savvy and do everything on the internet but sometimes it’s worth picking up the paper and reading it too.

Saturday mornings are one of those times because of the Flat Chat column in Saturday’s Sydney Morning Herald.

Jimmy Thomson has been writing it every weekend for the last 6 years and it’s developed a loyal following from Sydney’s real estate and strata obsessed public.  And, it contains useful information, interesting stories and Jimmy’s opinion on strata matters and a unique kind of fire and brimstone.  I like to read it every week to see what is troubling Jimmy and others.

Jimmy says that the column contains ‘the raw, unedited articles before the SMH sub-editors got into them, correcting my mistakes and saving me from litigation’ and that you should read them ‘in the spirit in which they were written – light-hearted guides to apartment life’.

It’s also re-published on the web and you can even get it as an RSS feed.

But, why not go old school next Saturday and pick up a copy of the SMH, order a latte, flip the Domain to over to the apartments section, go to page 5 and spend 15 minutes enjoying Flatchat ?

See you at the coffee shop on Saturday.
