You need to know about the National Community Titles Institute if you have anything serious to do with strata in Australia.
NCTI is the Australian national representative professional association for home owners, community associations, body corporate management practitioners, solicitors, tradespeople, insurers, bankers and other parties involved in the professional, full-time administration of community and strata schemes.
State representatives have meet at least every six months to continue to build the organisation and undertake shared nationally focused activities. After strategic planning in 2007/08 NCTI engaged an Executive Officer (currently Mark Lever) to liaise with government and industry stakeholders and to further develop NCTI.
NCTI currently has more than 1500 members through its State affiliate members –
Strata Managers Institute of the ACT (SMI ACT)
And, NCTI has also gone international, with Crockers Strata Management from Auckland, New Zealand, accepted as an extraordinary member.
The NCTI seeks to provide an Australia-wide professional association with global links to similar professional associations in the delivery of benefits for strata and community title managers and unit owners by doing the following things -
- Promoting increased professionalism within the community title industry
- Representing all industry participants at a national and international level
- Establishing consistent standards of professional practices across the States
- Establishing and maintaining a common Code of Conduct for practitioners across Australia
- Promote business and social interaction among all industry professions at a national level
- Educating and informing all industry participants
And, over the last 15 years NCTI has achieved a lot and done even more which I’ll feature in future blogs.
So, check out their website and support the continued activities and initiatives of NCTI.
