Last year I blogged about
the resistance in Sydney’s North Shore to higher density development (and some
of the causes) – (See Going over the Top in Hornsby).
Well

In
the story he describes the various things that support high density for
environmental reasons and quotes from the recent book by Professor Edward
Glaeser, of Harvard called ‘Triumph of the City’. Explaining how all the rational arguments point in only one direction (up) and how this is especially so in some of the areas that have resisted higher density the most.
It’s
a well reasoned piece and good reading for all Sydneysiders (and others).
